SCIM’s Premium Digital Production Course

Our flagship campus is ready to set a new standard for modern audio production schools.
Based in the design district of Rosebank, Johannesburg, the new facility provides 10 high-end workstations,a teaching and theory room with stunning AV setup, and a world-class production studio with some of the newest and most excitingsound creation and processing tools available anywhere in the world.

Add to this small class sizes, a complement of highly decorated and experienced educators, facilitators, and staff, andthe learning experience is taken to a new level entirely. Each student is guided from their current level of experience, whetherbeginners or advanced, and given the chance to learn from the industry’s best instructors in a niche and personal way.

Students receive their own copy of the flagship Ableton Live Suite 12 at an unprecedented discount rate and are then able to produce world-class music and audio on their own home computer.

All course material is accessed via our online system, and once you have received your logins, you can replay and rewatch the course in your own time.
This course includes two lessons a week, and every Friday, there is a third class with a different creator from the industry, as well as a personalized revision class held on Zoom each week with your facilitator.

During this 6-month program, you will learn every aspect of:

• Principles of Sound Waves
• Headroom, Bit Depth, and Sample Rates
• Advanced Mixing and Gain Structure Techniques (Including Compression, Maximization, and Other Dynamics Processing)
• Advanced Music Theory (Modulation, Chromatic Chords and Progressions, Modal Scales, and Chord Families)
• MPE and VCV Virtual Modular Synthesis – Advanced Techniques
• Vocal Recording, Mixing, and Processing
• Mastering
